Basenji - Bernie - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog
Bernie came from the local shelter where he'd been for a long period of time. We feared he was in danger of being euthanized, so we got him out of there, but now he needs a home. As far as his breed goes, we strongly feel like he has Basenji in him, along with possible Shiba Inu. Basenjis are sighthounds and both of these breeds have a high prey drive, therefore, Bernie should not be in a home with cats, very small dogs, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters or gerbils. Bernie's prey drive would probably make him a good candidate for training to be a Frisbee dog or agility. He would also be a good rodent hunter. Bernie is a good boy, but he needs a home that can keep him busy or "entertained." He is housetrained (will go to the door when he needs to go out), goes into his crate when told, walks well on a leash and he loves to ride in the car. He is up to date on vaccinations and he's neutered. He is about 4-5 years old. Please contact us if you are interested in adopting Bernie.
